It's hard to take life too seriously when you're rocking out to Madonna and streaming Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
If you have the means and it holds any amount of nostalgia for ya, please do yourself a favor and blast an '80s playlist for an hour today while you're cajoling your kid to do a page out of their workbook. And later, when you've made it through the school/work day, reward yourselves with an old '80s favorite. John Hughes films, anyone? The debuts of Macauley Culkin or Eddie Murphy? If it doesn't make you smile, I'll be shocked. If, but for a moment, it doesn't get your mind off this craziness and transport you back to a more innocent time, I'll find it hard to believe.
As Journey sings: "Don't stop believing'. Hold on to that feeling."
